Applix, Inc., a provider of business performance management (BPM) and business intelligence (BI) applications, expanded the platforms on which its flagship performance management application, TM1, is available. The latest version of TM1 is now shipping with support for the Windows 2003 x64 platforms. TM1 also offers greater access to and interoperability with data in SAP and SAP Business Information Warehouse (BW).

DATAllegro, supplier of data warehouse appliances, announced DATAllegro B25, an add-on product to DATAllegro's data warehouse appliances that can be used for backing up or storing up to 25 terabytes of user data. DATAllegro B25 can also be used as a staging area for exporting and importing data to and from the data warehouse.

IBM unveiled new business intelligence software, DB2 Data Warehouse Edition V9.1, designed to help organizations remove cost and complexity, and overcome barriers to business growth, by combining essential components needed for real-time data warehouse administration, data mining, online analytical processing (OLAP), and inline analytics and reporting.

Information Builders, an enterprise business intelligence (BI) company, introduced WebFOCUS Intelligent Search, a tool that harnesses the power of enterprise search, BI reporting, and integration technology to tap into previously inaccessible and unsearchable enterprise records. WebFOCUS Intelligent Search links unstructured and structured data, giving business users full access to enterprise information and enabling intelligent organizational decisions.

Inxight Software, a provider of enterprise software solutions for information discovery, announced the general availability of Inxight ThingFinder SDK 4.0 and Inxight ThingFinder Professional SDK 4.0. The Inxight ThingFinder Software Development Kit (SDK) provides advanced text analysis technology that automatically identifies and extracts key entities from any text data source, in multiple languages.

MicroStrategy Incorporated, a provider of business intelligence software, announced that it extended its reporting capabilities with the addition of a new graphical Query Builder interface for ad-hoc queries. This enhancement is part of the latest release of MicroStrategy 8, which became generally available on February 10, 2006. Query Builder enables power users to query directly against operational data stores without hand coding SQL.

PTI, an emerging developer of high-performance business analytics solutions, announced immediate availability of Release 2 of its Powerhouse Professional Edition software. Powerhouse Release 2 is repackaged with a flexible work environment offering varying levels of complexity-hiding improved metrics for reporting model quality, and reporting tools that make it easier to explain the business significance of analytics projects to business managers.

QL2 Software Inc., a provider of business intelligence, text analytics and enterprise search software solutions, announced the release of WebQL 3.0, providing image text search. WebQL 3.0 reads text represented as images in web pages and PDF documents using Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Data that was previously inaccessible, because it existed as an image, is now completely available for extraction and delivery in an actionable format (Word, Excel, CSV, etc.).

Quest Software Inc., a provider of application, database and infrastructure management solutions, announced the availability of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise, the newest member of Quest's Spotlight family. At the same time, the company announced other updates and additions to enhance the breadth and depth of its solutions for managing Microsoft SQL Server, with extensive support for SQL Server 2005.
