ProSight and Remedy Partner to Provide Solution for Optimizing Enterprise Investments
ProSight Inc., a provider of top-down portfolio management software and solutions, and Remedy, a BMC Software company, announced a strategic partnership by which ProSight will integrate and resell Remedy solutions to complement ProSights portfolio management software. The resulting solution will provide senior executives with a clear understanding of the real costs and benefits associated with information technology (IT) investments. By combining detailed asset management information such as cost, warranty and lease information with other investment information within the IT portfolio projects, services and more customers will gain the ability to comprehensively manage IT resources and better align those resources to the business objectives.
The combination of enterprise portfolio analysis, asset management, and project management provides a cohesive understanding into the more static asset side of an enterprise with its more dynamic, project side, said Doug Lynn, vice president, META Group. Such comprehensive visibility will provide executives with the means to optimally leverage the benefits of portfolio management in all investments throughout the enterprise.
By integrating Remedy Asset Management functionality and ProSight Portfolios, customers gain access to granular asset information for portfolio planning and analysis, asset selection and performance monitoring, asset rationalization, what-if scenarios and optimization. IT executives can gather data on, and see into, all current IT projects and investments, as well as the costs related to existing infrastructure, projects, and services. The resulting solution can drive improved operational efficiencies and lead to more thorough IT asset management.
In addition to asset management, ProSight will use data maintained in Remedy Help Desk to gather asset inventory details and determine the viability of hardware and software investments, providing a clearer picture of the complete enterprise portfolio.
Earlier this year, ProSight announced a similar relationship with Microsoft that includes a bidirectional interface with Microsoft Project Server 2003, making ProSight the only company to offer enterprise portfolio management with bidirectional interfaces to both project and asset management tools.
