SIIA Forms Executive Council on Globalization
The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) announced the formation of an executive council focused on globalization issues. The council is led by a board made up of executives from seven SIIA member firms that has assembled three active committees to address some of the most critical issues that member companies are facing in today's global economy: product localization difficulties, sales and marketing strategies and how to maximize R&D performance utilizing global resources.
"The Executive Council on Globalization brings together software industry thought leaders to generate content relevant to today's software companies," said David Thomas, Executive Director of the SIIA Software Division. "This Council provides an effective mechanism for collaboration, networking and debate about the global growth of the software industry and the further expansion of software companies into global markets."
The SIIA Executive Council on Globalization is a multivendor coalition committed to identifying and developing best practices for independent software vendors (ISVs) and their partners. The Executive Council Board is chaired by Michael Thomas, EVP Global Sales, Symphony Services. Other board members include: Houman Behzadi, Senior Principal, Oracle Corporation; Aaron Harris, VP Engineering, Intacct Corporation; Amar Hanspal, Senior Vice President - Platform Solutions and Emerging Business, Autodesk; Ian Henderson, CEO, Rubric and Diana Waterson, Business Partner Marketing Manager - ISV & Developer Relations, IBM.
The SIIA Executive Council is dedicated to helping the marketplace understand and implement best practices in global software development and distribution. For further information, visit http://www.siia.net.
