BMC to Acquire Intelligent Event Management Leader ProactiveNet

BMC Software announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held ProactiveNet, Inc., an "early warning system" for IT.

ProactiveNet leverages real-time and proactive analyses to identify problems before they impact the business. The acquisition will bring together BMC's business service management (BSM) expertise with ProactiveNet technology.

ProactiveNet complements existing performance, transaction and event management systems by eliminating time and costs needed to manually build complex filters and correlation rules that detect and determine probable cause. With its intelligent threshold technology, the solution continues to get "smarter" by adapting to changing performance demands.
