Tableau Version 3.0 Debuts with Commanding New Visual Analysis

Tableau Software, a global leader in visual analysis software, launched Tableau v3.0, the most powerful and easy to use data analysis software available. Tableau v3.0 enables people to summarize and explore their everyday data with an intuitive interface that generates crisp visual displays.

Tableau v3.0 enables you to create fully interactive dashboards in an effortless drag and drop workflow. Without any IT support or programming, you can monitor and compare information, including data from multiple sources. For example, you can monitor business performance in a dynamic dashboard using data from Excel, Oracle, and SQL Server simultaneously.

Tableau v3.0 delivers a new class of filters that dynamically update all displays in worksheets and dashboards. Now, you can create and adjust a filter and watch an array of visual displays update simultaneously.

Tableau v3.0 lets you add free-form comments and dynamic data labels to any visual display. All annotations are dynamic and automatically reposition themselves as you explore and analyze.

Tableau v3.0 enables you to build presentation-ready tables that maintain their live connection to underlying data sources. The new formatting includes control of fonts, colors, and shading on all axes, rows, and columns.

With just one click, you can add dynamic reference lines to any analysis. Reference line calculations now include medians, statistical distributions, and confidence levels.

Tableau v3.0 now enables you to define "on the fly" groups within a visual display. By using the new "paper clip" icon, people can combine and re-categorize multiple data fields with one click. All groups are saved with the workbook and dynamically update as the data changes.

In addition its support for Excel, Access, SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services, MySQL, Oracle, and Hyperion Essbase, Tableau has added connections to IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, Firebird, and tab-delimited text files.
