Information Builders Introduces Adapter for XBRL Documents
Information Builders, the enterprise business intelligence (BI) standard of choice for organizations around the world, announced that the company has expanded the data integration capabilities of its WebFOCUS product through the addition of an XBRL adapter.
The XBRL Adapter enables WebFOCUS to directly report against XBRL documents located locally or on the Web. The new adapter integrates with the WebFOCUS Financial Reporting platform giving users the ability to create, schedule, distribute, and run parameterized financial reports.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) presently has a voluntary program where companies can submit their financial results in XBRL format in addition to the required HTML or ASCII format. The new offering allows XBRL documents located on the SEC site to be accessed directly by WebFOCUS reports, ensuring that companies using this financial data are reporting against one version of the truth.
