Kognitio Delivers on Port of WX2 Database to Sun's Solaris 10

November 5, 2008 - Kognitio completed its previously-announced development of a version of its WX2 analytical relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs on Sun Microsystems' Solaris 10 Operating System (OS).

Now in its sixth generation, Kognitio WX2 is capable of helping midsized and larger enterprises gain analytical access to, and insight from, massive amounts of data, allowing them to remain ahead of their competitors. Kognitio WX2 users can gain greater benefits in less time; by enabling users to query, in detail, vast amounts of granular data in just seconds, tests have shown WX2 consistently obtains results several times faster than competing data warehouse appliances and 10 to 60 times faster than typical software-only databases.

WX2's flexible deployment options, ranging from software-only, to a packaged appliance that uses affordable, industry-standard hardware, to its innovative, outsourced Data Warehousing as a Service (DaaS) model, blend the lowest total cost of ownership in the market with the highest performance, making it a natural choice for companies seeking to extract value from their data.
