OEM Agreement Brings Pentaho to Openbravo Software

September 8, 2008 - Openbravo, developer of Web-based open source enterprise resource planning (ERP) and point-of-sale solutions for enterprises, and Pentaho, a commercial open source alternative for business intelligence (BI), announced an agreement that will allow Openbravo to embed and distribute Pentaho's open source BI capabilities with Openbravo's flagship Openbravo ERP suite.

By embedding open source BI modules from Pentaho, Openbravo is enabling its customer base to get more strategic and analytical value from the information that customers capture and manage within their Openbravo ERP systems. The breadth and modularity of Pentaho's offering will enable everything from embedded operational reporting on day-to-day operations, as well as extraction and integration of Openbravo ERP data with information from other systems for advanced data warehousing and OLAP analysis. The integrated products are planned for delivery later this year.

"We chose Pentaho because of their extensive functionality and expertise in business intelligence, and because they've made it so easy to embed dashboards and business intelligence within our product line," said Manel Sarasa, CEO of Openbravo. "We recognized strong demand for an integrated solution that brings our popular technologies together in a way that creates significant additional customer value in a commercial open source delivery model."

As part of the agreement, Pentaho and Openbravo will also collaborate to provide seamless support about integration to commercial clients of both companies.
