Vancouver Coastal Health Leverages Akorri BalancePoint
June 23, 2008 - Vancouver Coastal Health, a leading provider of health care services in Vancouver and the coastal mountain communities of British Columbia, implemented Akorri, Inc.s BalancePoint management solution to ensure success of the companys data center virtualization and consolidation efforts.
Using BalancePoint, Vancouver Coastal Health was able to continually increase the density of its data center while improving storage utilization and maintaining optimal service levels.
With no room to build another data center or to add more servers, virtualization was key for us to keep up with capacity demands. However, as soon as we began virtualizing applications, we experienced intermittent performance issues with no clear visibility into root cause. We looked for management solutions with cross-domain knowledge between virtualization, physical servers and storage, and found only Akorri BalancePoint, said Ben Haley, regional supervisor of information management information systems for Vancouver Coastal Health Providence Health Care.
BalancePoint has allowed us to consolidate our data center with confidence, ensure our continued success in our virtualization initiative, and improve storage utilization - all while maintaining the best levels of service for our organization. Now we are looking to BalancePoint to not only aide in planning for future capacity but to manage performance in a number of our environments as we continue to look for ways to consolidate and virtualize, Haley said.
