Compiere Delivers Open Source ERP Solution on EnterpriseDB
April 8, 2008 - EnterpriseDB and Compiere, Inc. announced that Compiere will offer EnterpriseDBs Postgres Plus Advanced Server as a database option for its open source enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.
Postgres Plus Advanced Server is an enterprise-class relational database management system (RDBMS) that runs applications written for Oracle databases with little or no modification. Postgres Plus Advanced Server is built on PostgreSQL and enables Compiere to offer its customers a solution having the same functionality, performance, and security as Compieres Oracle-based offering.
Previously, Compiere ran only on Oracle. Because Postgres Plus Advanced Server runs applications written for Oracle databases with little or no modification, Compiere, Inc. was able to create a version of Compiere running on the EnterpriseDB database with minimal effort. Postgres Plus Advanced Server also provides Compiere with the performance, scalability and reliability necessary for Compieres mission-critical customer deployments.
Postgres Plus Advanced Server has quickly become a popular choice among our global customers, said Stuart Bagshaw, chief operating officer, Compiere, Inc. Were pleased to provide Enzyme Testing Labs and other customers with a database alternative that leverages open source advantages.
