Kalido Users Pioneer Need for Active Information Management

  • DM Review Online, October 12, 2007

Kalido, the active information management company, announced the successful completion of its seventh annual Kalido User Group Conference, where customers, partners and industry leaders joined together to discuss best practices for information management. Highlighting the emerging need for information as a service, discussions at the event emphasized the need for flexibility and adaptability in order to address today's dynamic business requirements.

During the course of the four day event, attendees heard from industry practitioners on key trends, best practices and new product innovations. Kalido President and CEO Bill Hewitt opened the conference by expanding on Kalido's vision for active information management and the need to deliver information as a service, giving providers, managers and consumers of data the right tools to meet ever changing business requirements.

Management consultant and business expert Greg Hackett highlighted the inability to address change from both an operational and technology perspective as a primary factor contributing to company failure.

"The Kalido User Group conference offers a unique opportunity for customers to learn from each other, as well as from Kalido and its partners, in a fun yet educational setting,” said Donna Saunders, chairman of the Kalido User Group and solutions architect at Owens Corning.

"By networking with our peers and colleagues, we have the chance to share best practices, discuss potential solutions and collaborate on techniques and new approaches.

There is no better way to expand our knowledge than through these discussions.”

Customer presentations were delivered from companies including Abbott Laboratories, British American Tobacco Belgium, Central Services Group and Fannie Mae, sharing lessons learned in managing, implementing and delivering strategic information management projects. Kalido also recognized the most innovative implementations of the year, honoring customers, including Fannie Mae, with the "Kalido Champion Award.”

>In addition, Project Performance Corporation was named Kalido Partner of the Year.

As part of the Active Information Management software suite, Kalido announced the general availability of the Kalido Universal Information Director. Based on Kalido's unique business model driven approach, the Kalido Universal Information Director will provide customers the ability to eliminate costly report rewrites and navigate freely among a number of different business intelligence offerings.

>Kalido also shared details of its product roadmap, including updates to core products and exciting planned solutions, all of which are designed to reduce the time, cost and risk of delivering high quality information.

Kalido also unveiled expanded support offerings to ensure customers are equipped with comprehensive technical support services, including enhanced online support and 24 hour support for mission-critical deployments. By providing constant access and flexible service options, Kalido delivers on-demand support to minimize the time required to resolve technical issues and improve product quality, enabling customers to focus on their core business needs.

Closing the conference was Computerworld Editor in Chief Don Tennant, who discussed the evolution of the IT industry and the growing importance of good technology over marketing and execution.

Active Information Management is becoming a pre-requisite for high quality business intelligence and performance management across the globe,” said Hewitt. "By participating in our annual User Group conference, our customers have already taken the first step towards positioning their organization for information management success.”
