Annual Buyer's Guide Issue
This November issue includes our 14th annual Buyer's Guide in addition to our excellent lineup of features articles and columns.
Our readers regard the DM Review annual Buyer's Guide as a high-quality reference. We learned in our recently conducted 2005 Readership Survey that many of you retain the November issue for the entire year, and you rely on it during your technology evaluation and implementation cycles. Conveniently organized by product category, the DM Review Buyer's Guide is a comprehensive information reference for evaluating technology vendors and solutions in the upcoming year. Look for the Buyer's Guide section on page 75.
Many of you took our Readership Survey which showed that you will spend approximately $5 million on analytic applications and corporate performance management software next year, so we know you'll be interested in Wayne Eckerson's article "What Are Performance Dashboards?" Another fact from the Readership Survey showed that your data integration budgets for next year will be around $8 million. Faisal Shah of Knightsbridge Solutions discusses how modern data integration tools and techniques can be used to improve information quality and auditability in his article, "Data Integration Strategies for Reliable Information Delivery."
Forty-eight percent of survey respondents noted that customer acquisition, satisfaction and retention are a top priority. In an effort to provide content that you want on the subjects that are valuable to you, DM Review would like to introduce Aaron Zornes as our newest columnist. He will share his expertise as a research analyst devoted to customer data integration and master data management in his column Customer Data Integration. See page 10 for his inaugural column, "Top Five Commonsensical Justifications."
Also in this issue, we feature an executive interview with Microsoft General Manager, Bill Baker. Baker discusses the long-awaited release of their SQL Server database - SQL Server 2005 - with DM Review Editorial Director, Jim Ericson.
Please consider attending a one-day business intelligence conference on November 14, 2005, at the Chicago Hilton sponsored by DM Review and Business Intelligence Review. BI Chicago is dedicated to best practices in business intelligence. Register today by calling (800) 803-3424 or at www.sourcemediaconferences.com/conferences/bic05.
In addition to this Business Intelligence-Chicago event, we are excited to announce a partnership with IBM. During November and December, we will present a series of executive breakfast briefings in New York, Philadelphia and Scottsdale entitled, "Manage Risks, Control Costs and Improve ROI with Master Data Integration." These are free to DM Review subscribers - you can register today at www.sourcemediaconferences.com/conferences/DMRIBM/.
Enjoy this issue!
