PAML Selects InterSystems
Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) selected the InterSystems CACHÉ object database for their next generation laboratory billing system.
The largest independent laboratory in the Northwest, PAML is moving forward immediately with CACHÉ MultiValue by migrating its billing services application to CACHÉ.
"The unrivalled speed of CACHÉ was key to our database technology selection," said Mark Johnston, PAML CIO. "We wanted to move forward as rapidly as possible with migrating the billing system to a new, high-performance platform that provides top-level MultiValue facilities."
ActiveHealth Selects Initiate Systems
ActiveHealth Management selected Initiate Patient and Initiate Provider master data management (MDM) solutions from Initiate Systems, Inc., to help accurately locate, match and link more than 15.8 million patient and 1.5 million provider records from multiple data sources to create a single view of each patient and provider.
Initiate Systems solutions also will assist ActiveHealth with improving operational performance by managing disparate sources of patient and provider information in order to reduce duplicate records and more effectively manage ActiveHealths health information exchange (HIE) with regional health information organizations (RHIOs).
As we further our efforts with HIE and RHIOs, choosing the right technology solution partner is vital to improving our matching and MDM capabilities, said Frank Norman Jr., executive vice president and CIO at ActiveHealth. We can only communicate health data regarding opportunities to improve care directly to doctors and patients if we are certain that the information is accurate and timely. We have confidence that technology from Initiate Systems will help us achieve this goal.
Cornell University Selects Tableau Software
Cornell University selected Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server to provide data visualization and analysis capabilities for its key performance indicators (KPIs) initiative.
Deans and business officers across Cornells 11 colleges will use information from the system to assess the present state of business, measure performance and progress toward goals and inform decisions on future courses of action. The initial project will cover 100 users, and, over time, Cornell plans to expand its deployment to more than 1,000 users across the institution.
Tableau Desktops ease-of-use and rich visualizations combined with Tableau Servers ability to immediately publish those visualizations made it the all-around winning choice, said Cindy Sedlacek, technical lead for the KPI initiative and director of data administration and reporting for Cornells College of Arts and Sciences. Tableaus powerful analytics let us easily tell the story of what has previously happened and is currently happening in our business.
CSX Selects Metastorm Software for Process Improvement
CSX Corporation, a transportation company providing rail, intermodal and rail-to-truck transload services, selected Metastorm software.
CSX will use the Metastorm ProVision enterprise modeling solution to analyze and improve its core business processes, including the development of an enterprise process model to support existing projects and help lean processes through value stream mapping and process simulation. In addition, Metastorm ProVision will enable CSX to define business processes as they relate to long-term strategies and goals and to support the development of a service-oriented architecture.
CSX selected Metastorm ProVision after a thorough evaluation process. Key criteria included ease of use, BPMN compliance, the ability to capture and visualize the entire enterprise including strategies, process, systems and data, as well as Metastorm ProVisions strong analysis and reporting capabilities, according to CSX representatives.
Finam Investment Company Selects FalconStor Solutions
Finam Investment Company, a leading Russian brokerage firm, deployed FalconStor Software, Inc.s FalconStor Network Storage Server (NSS) solution to ensure business continuity and enhanced storage performance.
The deployment has enabled Finam to manage a data growth rate currently estimated at more than 2 terabytes per month, resulting in part from the need to retain data to comply with legislation. In addition, the solution protects data in the event of a system crash. More than 10 terabytes of Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SQL Server data is backed up daily using Symantec Backup Exec, from servers running VMWare ESX, Linux or Microsoft Windows.
We deployed the FalconStor NSS solution to reduce downtime, improve recovery time and ensure data protection. The peace of mind resulting from knowing our data is safely archived is immeasurable, Sergey Sotnikov, Finam Investment Companys CIO said.
