Telecom Egypt Selects Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software

Telecom Egypt has selected Group 1 Software, a Pitney Bowes Company, as its Customer Communications Management (CCM) solutions provider of choice to enhance the customer billing process.

Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software will be implementing a suite of CCM components to enable Telecom Egypt to deliver convergent billing (single bill for customers who use different services, replacing multiple bill production) and e-billing to the company's extensive customer base.

The solution includes DOC1 Series 5, e2 Vault, e2 Service, e2 OAM, OpenEDMS and Content Author. Additionally, the software will be interfacing with the Geneva billing system to create multilingual bills in Arabic and English using Group 1 Software's translation module.

Spectra Logic Manages Growth with Sales Performance Management from Varicent

Varicent Software has been selected by Spectra Logic, an innovator in data archive and backup. Spectra Logic has turned to Varicent's flagship product, Varicent SPM, to bring visibility and foresight into the company's sales, growing revenue and strategic planning.

"While one of our key requirements for Spectra Logic's SPM implementation was accurate commission management for our outside representatives, we wanted even more out of SPM," said Brian Rome, CFO, Spectra Logic. "Specifically, we required an SPM solution that delivered scenario planning and analytics that would enable us to see what investments in sales are actually driving revenue growth."

After seeing a customized proof-of-concept demonstration, featuring Varicent SPM, Spectra Logic compared the product features to both their requirements and competing solutions. With Varicent SPM's ability to automate and control incentive compensation calculations, model territories and quotas and perform advanced analytics for better strategic insight and aligning corporate goals with individual performance, Spectra Logic realized Varicent SPM more than met its needs.

As Spectra Logic continues its roll out of Varicent SPM, the company will use the software for visibility into Spectra Logic's current and future sales quotas. With Varicent SPM, Spectra Logic will better understand how the sales force meets its quotas, who delivers on the quotas, how best to structure the sales force and what product areas the company should focus on. Ultimately, this leads to a more nimble organization, making strategic decisions that drive revenue growth.

Hot Topic Licenses Lawson Business Intelligence

Hot Topic Inc. licensed Lawson Business Intelligence, part of the Lawson S3 Enterprise Performance Management Suite. An existing Lawson S3 Enterprise Financial Management and Human Capital Management customer, Hot Topic is a national mall-based specialty retailer. It operates 693 Hot Topic stores and 130 Torrid stores throughout the United States and Puerto Rico, offering both apparel and accessories.

Friends University Selects Information Builders' WebFOCUS

Friends University has selected Information Builders' WebFOCUS as the BI platform for university-wide business intelligence and reporting. Located in Wichita, Kansas with facilities in Topeka and Lenexa and courses offered throughout the state, Friends needed a way to extract insight from their Banner software and deliver business intelligence to users throughout the institution to improve decision-making.

"After reviewing packages from Argos, Oracle, Cognos and Microsoft Reporting services we decided on WebFOCUS," said Cynthia Jacobson, director of IT Business Services at Friends University. "It was very evident that WebFOCUS was a mature information delivery platform and the capabilities were years ahead of the competition. We recognized that Banner offered a lot of advantages for our university, but we needed a business intelligence platform to deliver those benefits."

It was WebFOCUS' flexibility and ease of use that initially won over the university's selection committee. The ultimate deciding factor, however, was Information Builders' unwavering commitment to a successful BI deployment. "We were impressed with Information Builders' approach, broad higher education and corporate base and local customer references," said Kelley Dawson, associate vice president of Administration and Finance at the University. "The culture of Information Builders is different. They helped us understand the benefits and risks and demonstrated a detailed success plan, which outlined how we could achieve our goal. In the end we made a decision on the vendor and not just the tool. It is reassuring when you purchase a top-notch product from a vendor who demonstrates a commitment to our success, and has the experienced people to back it up."
