KXEN Boosts Revenues and Service, Cuts Costs at Rogers Communications

Rogers Communication Inc. has deployed KXEN's Analytic Framework suite of data mining tools across customer knowledge teams at Rogers' wireless and cable businesses as well as its publishing arm. The result, according to director of campaign management and customer knowledge Derek Pollitt, is that customers are seeing more relevant offers from direct marketing campaigns. "This in turn will decrease costs, increase revenues and improve customer satisfaction," he says.

To counter growing competition and constant change, Rogers installed KXEN to ramp up modeling and analysis in the face of industry-wide skill shortages. KXEN's software was chosen for its ease of use and speed of operation.

"We selected KXEN because it allows us to create quality propensity models up to seven times faster than before," says Pollitt. "This not only means we can look at things in a more granular way, it also frees up our highly skilled people to focus on other, more interesting opportunities.

"Customers tend to get inundated with marketing messages from multiple suppliers every day. To succeed, our messages must be seen, be relevant and persuasive to the customer, and KXEN is helping us achieve that."

Attunity Gives Norandal USA Increased Visibility into Quality and Process Improvements

Norandal USA Inc. is using Attunity InFocus to more effectively manage around critical quality metrics of its key manufacturing processes. Norandal USA Inc. is a division of Norandal Aluminum and a leading manufacturer of rolled aluminum foil and light gauge sheet products for the consumer and industrial markets.

Managers in process-driven environments and manufacturing environments in particular, are frequently concerned with exceptions and unplanned variability in the supply chain and production processes. By gaining visibility into potential exceptions in quality, production rates or equipment failures and providing the platform to take action on those exceptions, Attunity InFocus helps Norandal managers to more effectively prioritize projects and align engineering resources on key business issues.

Implemented in weeks, Norandal was able to easily integrate Attunity InFocus within their existing HP OpenVMS systems, providing quick and easy access to critical manufacturing data. Utilizing Attunity InFocus, Norandal can now better manage intraday casting performance, and proactively identify and act upon potential areas for quality and process improvements across the casting lines and alloys that it uses to manufacture its heavy gauge foil, light sheet and other aluminum products.

"We wanted to better understand and manage our pounds per inch of width (PIW) performance indicator," said David Way, Process and Reliability Manager, Norandal USA Inc. "Getting a handle on the PIW was difficult as it is both a lengthy and complex performance metric to manually track and report. We chose to implement Attunity InFocus based on its ability to help us not only monitor and analyze, but provide a means to act on critical information, which would help significantly increase our casting efficiencies."
