Affinity Health System Selects iDashboards For Real-Time Data Visualization
Affinity Health System, a Catholic mission-oriented regional integrated health care network in Wisconsin, chose iDashboards for its ability to analyze, track and report the organization's information through the use of visually rich and personalized business intelligence dashboards.
Affinity Health System set out to implement a business intelligence (BI) tool that could graphically present their data in many different functions of the health network. After reviewing other solutions, Affinity chose iDashboards for its quick ability to deliver user-specific key performance metrics through user-friendly dashboards.
iDashboards was quickly installed and initially rolled out to the financial and executive teams to provide real-time visual reports on staffing, patient loads, and accounts receivable and other key metric indicators.
"iDashboards won us over right away. Not only was it easy to install and use, but we had virtually instantaneous results that we could see visually and act upon immediately," said Todd Schneider, integration analyst for Affinity Health System. "iDashboards has provided us with a simple and customizable user interface with a clean presentation layer - something our healthcare information system could not provide."
After the initial deployment, Affinity Health System was so impressed with the ease of implementation and instant knowledge that was obtained, they chose to deploy a full enterprise license to pilot in the areas of nursing chart audits, time and attendance reporting, trend analysis, and biomedical help ticket software.
iDashboards' real-time dashboards and alerts are helping leading healthcare organizations to reduce costs, billing errors, and increase efficiency. Healthcare organizations can monitor performance, variance trends of patient volume, average length of stay and service speed to hospital administrators.

ETI Built-to-Order Integration Powers Metals USA Financial Data Warehouse
ETI (Evolutionary Technologies International, Inc.) recently provided Metals USA with instant access to vital financial data stored in their legacy ERP systems using ETI Built-to-Order (BTO) Connectors. ETI also helped Metals USA leverage their investment in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 by providing high performance connectivity to the financial data stored in their legacy systems. The ETI BTO Connector(tm) was generated for Metals USA specific source schemas, transformations and production environment; all with a fixed-price guarantee. ETI BTO Connectors eliminate traditional barriers to integration success by enabling legacy information for composite applications while leveraging open architecture standards and SaaS principles.
In an effort to increase their business agility and make more informed business decisions quickly, Metals USA required a virtual "close of the books" at any given time. To facilitate this, Metals USA required that their financial data warehouse, built on a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 BI Platform, have high performance connectivity to legacy data residing in COBOL/ISAM files as well as several databases residing on Unix-based servers. The company also faced the challenge of having over 80 manufacturing or distribution facilities across the country, each with its own profit center, supported by a number of ERP systems and underlying databases. Now the customer can report up to date vital financial and operating information via their SQL Server 2005 BI infrastructure.
Hugh Gray, vice president and CIO of Metals USA explained that their specific ERP system which is feature rich to accommodate the wide variety of services provided to customers is restrictive in its data mining capabilities. "The ability to extract a significant amount of data from that ERP system on a daily basis was therefore essential. An ETI BTO Connector was the perfect answer to build a data warehouse that is easily accessed by financial and accounting personnel."
ETI BTO Connectors provide high performance data movement and complex transformation capabilities based on individual customer needs. ETI BTO Connectors complement SQL Server 2005 by eliminating the hand coding required to access legacy data. ETI BTO Connectors provide data integration to virtually any data source including mainframes, data warehouses, file systems, legacy databases, proprietary applications, SaaS applications, message buses and web services.
QlikTech Prescribes Business Intelligence Solution for PerfectServe
PerfectServe provides physician contact and patient care communication services to hospitals, physician practices and other healthcare clients in more than 130 markets across the U.S. At present, PerfectServe facilitates tens of thousands of interactions per day between hospital and physician clients and their approximately 12 million patients. PerfectServe, Inc. is utilizing QlikView performance dashboards and reporting for PerfectServe's hospital clients and internal operations.
"Prior to implementing QlikView, PerfectServe was generating custom reports for clients to analyze their calls by physician, department and call method on a monthly and sometimes weekly basis," said Rick Pitts, president of QlikTech North America. "Now, PerfectServe clients access their data through interactive dashboards and can easily drill down on their own to investigate any single contact event or process - not only saving PerfectServe time and resources, but also giving them a competitive edge with value-added visual reporting. "
The visual reporting dashboards monitor metrics such as contact events and call outcomes by department and physician, response times, and differences between fail-safe contact methods versus higher risk communications. The dashboards also allow hospitals to compare communications efficiency and benchmark performance against similar hospitals across the country, using aggregate data.
" In addition to the operational benefits of optimizing processes and streamlining compliance with QlikView, this analysis improves the quality of patient care, which is paramount," said Terrell Edwards, CEO and president of PerfectServe.
