Popkin Software, a leading, NY-based developer of enterprise architecture and business process modeling tools and services, announced that support for the business process modeling notation (BPMN) is gaining momentum among its Fortune 500 and federal clients. BPMN is a new, rich notation that simplifies the modeling of complex business processes across applications and business partners.
Popkin is a long-time participant in the Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org). Popkin is a leading author of the standard and one of the first to offer full, integrated support for this standard in its flagship enterprise architecture and modeling tool, System Architect. Last week, Jan Popkin, Popkin's CEO, was named to the board of directors.
"A standard for business process management is gaining support in the leaders in the IT community," said Jan Popkin, CEO, Popkin Software, and a BPMI.org board member. "This notation is a giant step forward in delivering a shared business language that helps organizations leverage future technologies, such as Web services. Popkin Software is committed to being at the forefront of tool support for this emerging standard."
Popkin's System Architect enterprise modeling suite currently offers integrated support for BPMN 1.0. System Architect is the only tool to integrate, in one multi-user product, industry-leading support for all major modeling and enterprise architecture standards using a SQL server platform. The BPMN 1.0 working draft specification is available royalty free for download at http://www.bpmi.org/bpmn-spec.esp.
