arcplan, Inc. Announces Executive Promotions

arcplan, Inc., a business intelligence (BI) software provider, announced a series of executive promotions furthering its commitment to strengthening and growing operations in the US and abroad. arcplan, Inc. Board of Directors named Robert Koolen to the position of chief executive officer, and Brian King to the positions of president and chief operating officer effective July 1. Stewart Plumb was promoted to vice president of sales in early May. Roland Hoelscher, founder, president and CEO of arcplan, Inc., a subsidiary of arcplan Information Services AG, returns July 1 to the company's world headquarters in Langenfeld, Germany, as executive director in charge of world operations for the company's new dynaSel product configuration platform product line. Hoelscher, with the company since 1991, will also assume the role of chairman of the board for arcplan, Inc.
Koolen, vice president of marketing, will lead corporate and product strategy and planning in the Americas. Prior to joining arcplan in 2001, Koolen led Global Marketing and Strategic Alliances for e-learning company Knowledge Mechanics, and was marketing director at Baan Co., a leading CRM/ERP software company. Prior to Baan, Koolen also held marketing and management positions with ICL and several successful start-ups in Europe, Africa and North America. Koolen graduated from Hogere Economische School, Groningen, a business school in the Netherlands, with a degree in marketing.
King, vice president of technology alliances, joined arcplan in 1999. He will lead strategic business development and partner management as well as the implementation of consulting and sales operations plans. King also directed operations for arcplan's US Pacific Region. King brings with him the additional expertise of having led several SAP projects in his former position at a large utility company. In addition, he works closely with many technology solution vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, Hyperion, SAP, Oracle, MicroStrategy Sun Microsystems and others to strategically position arcplan for future growth in the business intelligence and OLAP space. King also sits on the Microsoft and Hyperion XML Advisory Committee.
Plumb, previously vice president of sales and operations for arcplan's Central Region, joined arcplan in 2001. Prior to arcplan, Mr. Plumb accumulated more than ten years software sales and operations experience in various management roles for ASP e-commerce solutions companies and traditional VAR/reseller organizations supplying Fortune 500 licensing and contract management solutions. Plumb holds a MBA in Business Administration from Texas A&M; and is a Microsoft certified system engineer.
