Telcopoint Teams With HearMe To Launch Next Generation Communications Services

    Online News published in DMReview.com

HearMe (Nasdaq:HEAR), and Telcopoint Inc., a leading supplier of enhanced IP (Internet Protocol) services, today announced that the two companies have extended their licensing and reseller agreement to bring new VoIP services to market. As a result of a new license and hosting agreement, Telcopoint is leveraging HearMe's technology to build next generation communications services for its converged network.

Telcopoint has licensed HearMe(TM) VoiceSERVER (TM) and HearMe's VoIP- conferencing applications technologies in the deployment of hosted services for the Telcopoint nationwide VoIP backbone. HearMe VoiceSERVER provides a scalable, fault-tolerant platform to support high quality, PC-to-phone, phone- to-phone, and PC-to-PC VoIP communications. Utilizing HearMe technology, Telcopoint has created a variety of enhanced services supporting a wide range of customers. Last year, Telcopoint launched hybrid applications based on HearMe technology including the Telcopoint-&- Click, VoIP e-commerce application. Telcopoint is now expanding that portfolio through IP conferencing with PC Voice chat, a turn key application for hosting two-party calls, conference calls, or multi-participant chat rooms on a Web site. The new PC Voice Chat application is already hosting thousands of users. Over the next year, Telcopoint also intends to launch new innovative VoIP based applications using HearMe's application platform.

Through the establishment of points-of-presence (POPs) in strategic locations and formation of interconnectivity agreements with leading VoIP carriers, Telcopoint is offering call origination and termination services to carriers and service providers looking to maximize their voice transmission through VoIP. Building from there, Telcopoint is deploying enhanced services applications that are designed to help its customers increase productivity and profitability. Telcopoint is already providing voice service for a network of Web services formerly hosted by HearMe.
