Durham, N.C., Jan. 31, 2001 ? Metagenix, Inc. announced that it will begin shipping MetaRecon Version 2.5, the world's first enterprise data management integrated development environment. MetaRecon 2.5 will also be available in a desktop version at the affordable price point of only $25,000 for a one-year rental. This price point compares extremely favorably to other vendors with price points of over $1,000,000 in their base configuration.

The desktop version includes the complete suite of profiling and analysis tools, a source-to-target Transformation Mapping Environment (TME), repository maintenance, reports, and DDL and XML generation. The desktop version runs on a single client machine and includes a license for a single server on the same machine.

The enterprise version includes heavy-duty features such as ETL generation, OLAP generation, multi-user capabilities, an enterprise read-only version, and Unix support.
