Informix Business Solutions To Be Renamed January 15, 2001

Informix Business Solutions Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Informix Corporation, will announce its new corporate name at the company's annual internal Sales Kickoff Conference, to be held in Dallas, Texas, on January 15, 2001.

Informix Business Solutions was formally established following Informix Corporation's September 19, 2000 public announcement of its intention to separate its two business units into two independent operating companies, each with its own publicly traded stock. Informix Business Solutions focuses on providing platform and database-independent software solutions and infrastructure for the e-business marketplace.

"We are preparing to announce our new corporate name and logo at our annual sales conference where we can motivate our sales teams around our new corporate identity. The visibility impact on internal as well as external audiences can be maximized then as well" said Peter Fiore, president of "Newco," as Informix Business Solutions has been referred to up to now.

PC Data Signs Strategic OEM Agreement With Knosys

PC Data and Knosys announced a strategic original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement that speeds up the customization of analysis solutions. The agreement allows PC Data to embed the analytical functionality of the Knosys ProClarity Analytical Platform into a new market research analysis product that speeds up customers' analyses of point of sale, demographic and market share data. The embedding of the analytical technology of the ProClarity Analytical Platform into PC Data's Web products coupled with the expertise of Knosys Professional Consulting Services allows PC Data to shorten the development times needed to deliver completely customized and timely analysis solutions.

"The completely open and flexible ProClarity Analytical Platform, along with the Knosys Consulting staff, helped us vastly improve the delivery of a customized and wizard-driven analysis solution to market. It cut our time in half," said Donald Plebuch, director of information systems at PC Data. "We needed to be able to go to market extremely quickly with a very powerful and customized analysis application to meet our client demands, and our partnership with Knosys has allowed us to do that and more."

PC Data plans to release a series of new sales analysis tools in the coming months. This functionality will also be applied to their online e-commerce analysis tools available on its Web site.
