Boulder, Colo., July 16, 1999 - Exabyte Corporation announced its free Mammoth-2 upgrade program for selected automated tape library products. Resellers and customers who purchase Exabyte's 220, 440, 480 and X200 automated tape libraries populated with Mammoth drives can upgrade, at no additional cost, to Mammoth-2 drives when they become available later this year. The free Mammoth-2 upgrade program is valid on all purchases of qualified automated tape libraries through Sept. 30, 1999.

"The capacity (60 GB native per cartridge) and performance (12 MB/second) in our Mammoth-2 product line has fueled a tremendous level of excitement and anticipation within our resellers and customers," said Bill Marriner, chief executive officer for Exabyte. "Our Mammoth-2 upgrade program is an aggressive program designed to acknowledge this demand while providing purchasers with the unrivaled investment protection and scalability found in our Mammoth-2drive products.
