SchemaLogic and WAND, Inc. Join Forces to Offer Taxonomy Solution

    Online News published in DMReview.com
November 18, 2005

SchemaLogic, a leader in enterprise metadata and taxonomy management software, and WAND, Inc., a leading provider of industry vertical product and service taxonomies, announced that they have joined forces to deliver a comprehensive taxonomy solution to global 2000 companies. The partnership will offer customers taxonomic content, coupled with a platform to view, manage and disseminate the taxonomies to their search and content management applications.

WAND taxonomies coupled with SchemaLogic taxonomy management empowers customers to rapidly deploy an 'out-of-the-box' taxonomic solution that matches their business domain. The solution decreases the time and cost of implementing a corporate taxonomy.

"This complementary relationship between SchemaLogic and WAND provides customers with an easier way to get their arms around a specific business taxonomy in a product or service market and then manage it more easily," said Jeff Dirks, president and chief executive officer of SchemaLogic. "These combined platforms provide value and an end result that cannot be found in one product alone.  Our customers will be excited to see that they can start with taxonomic content from WAND and manage it with SchemaServer.  It's a natural fit."

SchemaLogic offers the framework to manage and use metadata, taxonomies, vocabularies and schema across multiple systems to improve the way information is organized, accessed and shared across large enterprises.  The results are vast improvements in findability, business agility, information governance and knowledge-worker efficiency. Organizations can easily browse their catalog of metadata and manage metadata lifecycle change via a desktop or Web-based interface.

"Organizations today are not sure where to start when it comes to creating a business taxonomy," said Ross Leher, chief executive officer for WAND, Inc. "WAND gives the customer a place to start and SchemaLogic puts the management of that data in motion.  Businesses need the tools to get the job done and our combined solution provides them with that.  We are excited to be working together to provide this solution to the market."
