Quest International Users Group and Oracle Applications User Group Form Strategic Alliance

    Online News published in DMReview.com
January 7, 2005

Quest International Users Group, the independent voice for PeopleSoft/J.D. Edwards users worldwide, and the Atlanta-based Oracle Applications User Group (OAUG), a large knowledgebase for Oracle Applications users, announced the formation of a strategic alliance to offer their respective memberships additional value and to provide for a smoother transition as Oracle completes its acquisition of PeopleSoft.

The leaderships of both groups began informally communicating during the past year, as Oracle sought to acquire PeopleSoft. Now that the merger is being finalized, the user groups are establishing a formal relationship in order to help PeopleSoft and J.D. Edwards users become part of the Oracle community.

"As we transition to become part of the Oracle family of user groups, Quest will continue to be a trusted advocate and resource for PeopleSoft/J.D. Edwards users," said Fred Pond, president of Quest. "This alliance with OAUG puts our members in touch with a large network of existing Oracle customers and we believe the customer community as a whole will benefit."

"The alliance between OAUG and Quest enhances the collective voice of all Oracle Applications users," said Patricia Dues, president of OAUG.  "Our efforts to create joint efforts between user groups helps lay the groundwork for a long-term strategic partnership."

The organizations are developing plans to collaborate on educational and networking efforts for their members once details of Oracle's merger with PeopleSoft are finalized.
